silo ARCHITECTURE + DESIGN is an award winning firm devoted to quality, contemporary design that is sensitive to our shared natural and built environment.  The firm specializes in single and multi-family residential, commercial, and institutional projects.  Geoff Belau, owner and founder, has over 18 years of experience in design and construction, including his own environmentally friendly house in south Seattle.  He has been a Licensed Architect in the State of Washington since 2001.

silo ARCHITECTURE + DESIGN is dedicated to an architecture that is of our time.  It is our belief that great architecture is born out of a response to environment (built and natural), program, budget, structure, and culture.  Form is the result of the successful integration of these elements and, while aesthetic and formal concerns are part of every built project, we believe “style” should not be a starting point or a generator of design solutions.

silo ARCHITECTURE + DESIGN is committed to sustainable design strategies that reduce our impact on the natural environment, while making a positive contribution to the built environment.  From early site studies to specification of “green” products and systems, we work with clients, consultants, suppliers, and contractors to identify and implement sustainable design and building solutions.

silo ARCHITECTURE + DESIGN strives to bring the idea of responsible stewardship of our communities, our environment, and our world to all of its projects.  Geoff has been active in his community for more than 10 years.  He played a major role in lobbying for, and facilitating the acquisition of, a new library for the South Park neighborhood, and serves on the Community Advisory Board in King County’s effort to replace the aging South Park Bridge.
